Front-End Developer - Help Center Application

You'll elevate global user experience by building and optimizing a critical Help Center application.

Responsibilities

Central Time Delivery.

Must-Have Skills (Required):
Core Frontend:
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript.
- Strong experience with React.
- Experience with Next.js or similar SSR frameworks.
- Experience with component-based UI development.
- Experience building dynamic forms.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs (e.g., maps, services).

Backend / API Integration:
- Experience working with Node.js.
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and modern web architecture.
- Experience integrating backend services.
- Familiarity with GraphQL or gRPC.

Development Practices:
- Experience writing automated tests (unit, integration, e2e).
- Experience with modern testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Playwright).
- Familiarity with Git workflows using Git.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
- Code quality tools such as ESLint / Prettier.
- 3+ years of software engineering experience.

CMS & Content:
- Experience with headless CMS platforms such as: Contentstack, Contentful, Strapi.

Nice-to-Have Skills (Preferred):
Frontend Ecosystem:
- Experience with Emotion (CSS-in-JS) or similar styling approaches.
- Experience with Storybook.
- Experience integrating Google Maps.
- Experience with design systems (e.g., Indeed XDS).

Backend / Performance:
- Experience with Node.js frameworks like Koa or Express.js.
- Experience with caching tools like Redis.
- Performance optimization and caching strategies.

CMS & Content:
- Experience managing content models.
- Experience with preview environments and content workflows.

Infrastructure / DevOps:
- Experience with Docker.
- Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD.
- Experience working with service mesh technologies such as Envoy.

Product & Platform Features:
- Internationalization (i18n) and localization (l10n).
- User behavior tracking.
- Metrics collection and reporting.
- A/B testing frameworks and feature flags.
- Observability tools.
- Accessibility testing.

Description:
Project Overview:
- Responsible for building and maintaining the Help Center application, leveraging a unified CMS (Contentstack) and a React-based frontend.
- This role owns ongoing enhancements, stability, and performance of the Help Center, and may also support additional Business Operations initiatives as needed.

Project:
- Migration to unified CMS stack.

CMS:
- Contentstack.

Frontend:
- Swamp.js (Indeed’s internal React-based framework).

Primary Focus:
- Build + maintain Help Center application.
- Core allocation dedicated to Help Center, with potential support for other BAT team projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain React components and content blocks that power marketing pages across Indeed's global sites.
- Develop and optimize Next.js server-side rendering (SSR) and static site generation (SSG) workflows.
- Create reusable UI components using Indeed's XDS (Experience Design System) and Emotion for styling.
- Implement content models and manage schema changes in Contentstack CMS.
- Write GraphQL queries and REST API integrations for fetching and transforming content.
