Python Engineer

Architect, construct, and sustain dependable backend services that drive essential application features Play an active role in technical decision-making and help steer the broader direction of software initiatives Coordinate closely with cross-functional partners to turn business requirements into practical technical solutions Diagnose and address intricate technical problems that impact system stability and performance Engage in agile planning cycles and contribute to the execution of development tasks Assist newer team members in growing technically through mentorship and shared knowledge Uphold strong code quality standards by actively participating in reviews and collaborative development practices Champion ongoing enhancement of engineering workflows, tooling, and team practices At least 2 years of hands-on experience in Python development Solid command of backend frameworks and related technologies, including FastAPI, Django, or Flask, along with API design and performance tuning Expertise in system design and a firm grasp of software architecture principles, including designing and building microservices, API gateways, and communication between services Proven ability to consolidate data pulled from various sources and formats, such as xlsx, PDF, CSV, and JSON, into a unified data model Background overseeing junior team members from a technical standpoint Advanced shell scripting capabilities, such as Bash, for automating tasks and handling operating system-level functions Strong familiarity with operating systems, especially Linux/Unix, covering process management, foundational networking, and application-layer integration Excellent problem-solving skills, with the capacity to resolve intricate system and application-level issues Firm dedication to test automation practices, including thorough unit testing Background working within agile teams on demanding, business-critical applications Team-oriented approach, with genuine engagement in code reviews and mutual learning Ease working alongside teams spread across various geographies and time zones Working knowledge of Atlassian tools, including Jira and Confluence Excellent English communication skills (B2 level or higher) Background using Dagster to orchestrate and oversee data pipeline workflows Exposure to Kubernetes for deploying and managing containerized environments Skill with Pandas for handling data manipulation and analytical tasks Background with ReactJS for developing front-end components that connect with backend systems Working knowledge of TypeScript for creating type-safe front-end or full-stack solutions Experience with dbt for shaping and transforming data as part of analytics pipelines Domain knowledge in finance, particularly Payments or Treasury, to provide relevant context for technical decision-making
