Purpose

The ScotiaConnect Business Services team is responsible for delivering core payments and information reporting digital capabilities across ScotiaConnect for clients globally.

A Global Product Owner to drive and support the evolution of ScotiaConnect Business Services, with a focus on payment capabilities.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Digital Channels, you will define and deliver globally scalable product capabilities that support the ScotiaConnect platform strategy, while ensuring stability, continuity, and ongoing enhancements for existing ScotiaConnect markets.
In collaboration with the agile team, the Global Product Owner will be engaged throughout the different phases of the product lifecycle and will actively evolve the product roadmap. The Global Product Owner will be expected to represent the voice of the customer and help to prioritize the backlog. Moreover, the incumbent will be expected to enable peers and tirelessly advocate for the vision and customer experience they´ve been entrusted with. 

Accountabilities 

Global Product Strategy & Ownership
•    Own and communicate the product vision, strategy, roadmap, value proposition, and associated risks.
•    Align global priorities while balancing standardization with regional business, regulatory, and market needs.
•    Drive prioritization decisions based on business value, customer impact, and technical sustainability.
•    Govern product delivery outcomes, including acceptance and approval of completed development work.

Payments Capabilities
•    Lead the end-to-end payments product vision and client experience across the payment lifecycle.
•    Drive enhancements in payment initiation, beneficiary management, tracking, processing, and reconciliation.
•    Define and execute the roadmap for strategic payment and payee management capabilities.
•    Ensure alignment between payment execution and reporting to provide transparency and control for clients.

Functional Skills
•    Strong expertise in software delivery methodologies and modern product development practices.
•    Ability to lead complex initiatives and develop innovative solutions beyond traditional approaches.
•    Proven stakeholder management skills, building consensus across diverse business interests.
•    Expertise in value-based prioritization and converting strategic goals into actionable user stories and delivery plans.

•    Enable consistent and reusable payment, reporting, and servicing capabilities across markets.

End-to-End Product Delivery
•    Support and lead the full product lifecycle from discovery through release.
•    Deliver complex, multi-market payment initiatives with strong execution discipline.
•    Ensure solutions are scalable, reusable, and aligned with long-term architecture goals.

Agile Delivery Leadership
•    Lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality outcomes with predictability and value.
•    Drive backlog management, sprint planning, and execution in partnership with Technology and Design.
•    Foster accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer-centricity.
•    Demonstrate adaptability, humility, and confidence while leading through uncertainty.

Customer & Problem Discovery
•    Lead discovery activities to understand customer needs, behaviors, and pain points.
•    Collaborate with UX and research teams to create intuitive and efficient user experiences.
•    Translate customer insights into impactful product features and enhancements.

Stakeholder Management & Governance
•    Serve as the key liaison between Product, Technology, Business, and regional stakeholders.
•    Communicate progress, risks, dependencies, and strategic decisions effectively.
•    Ensure governance, alignment, and execution consistency across global and local initiatives.

Education / Experience / Other Information 

•    Bachelor´s Degree in business, finance, economics or another relevant field. 
•    5+ years of experience in a role building customer facing digital products, preferably within payments, banking, or financial services.
•    Prior experience in a project environment and familiar with project life cycle management. 
•    Proven experience delivering products end-to-end in an agile environment.
•    Experience influencing prioritization at the intersection of business needs and technology (you measure your success in terms of business impact).
•    You have managed a technology product or a digital journey end to end, from inception to delivery.
•    You have experience in web, mobile, or microservice development with a strong focus on digital payments.
•    Digital Payments experience is an asset.  

Working Conditions

Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence
